Felicitating the successful students on their achievement in the Gurukul this year, Kumar said, “I feel honoured to be in Gurukul, which is blessed to have been visited by a galaxy of great visionaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, Dr Rajendra Prashad, Dr Radha Krishnan, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Jamnalal Bajaj and many others.”Stressing on the significance of ‘Gurukul’ system of learning, Kumar further added: “It is good to see that since its inception in 1902, the Gurukul Kangri varsity has come a long way in providing an indigenous system of imparting education in vedic literature, Indian philosophy, Indian culture as well as modern sciences and research.”Taking about the nation’s youth, Kumar said, “The youth are the one who truly can meet the aspirations of a strong and leading India. If harnessed and channelised properly, they can really create history and make miracles happen.”Emphasising on the importance of universities and institutions of higher education, Kumar said, “As temples of learning and earning, these can be instrumental in opening up the intellectual horizons of young minds; taking them to higher stages of human endeavour; and equipping them to meet challenges of the day successfully.”
