of English |
The
Department of English has been conducting research and publishing
research papers in Indian Writing in English, Indian Sanskrit
poetics, Canadian Literature, Diaspora and Dalit Literature
and has students enrolled for Ph.D in American Literature
and Indian Writing in English. Apart from conducting classes
for undergraduate and postgraduate students the department
encourages students to perform Role play and take part in
Dramatics ,Debates and participate in Essay and Caption Writing
Contests so as to enable them to improve their spoken and
written skills in the language. |

of Sanskrit |
The
department imparts knowledge of Veda and Sanskrit literature
to the students of under graduate & post graduate classes.
The UG students are boarders who begin the day with the performing
of Yagya and lead a simple, disciplined life during their
stay as boarders in the ashram (hostel).The Department has
produced scholars who take part in debates, plays and have
won prizes at the state level. |

Department
of music of KGM Dehradun is imparting traditional Classical
Music to the students. This department is imparting Gharanedar
Music at the same time preparing the students to appreciate
other styles of Music as well as different folk song and Dance.
Faculty members of the department have been sincerely and
activity participating in various performing arts and competitions.
Dr. Meera Dasgupta has given performance in many states of
USA as well as at National levels. She has received honour
from Honorable Chief Minister, Adhunik Shiksha Prasar Samiti,
D.A.V. College Dehradun. Mrs. Reena Rahenwal has taken parts
in many functions and given the direction in many functions.
Music students have participated in many competitions and
functions all over the states and won prizes. Department has
two branches of Classical Indian music. |

of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology |
The
department of AIHCA of Kanya Gurukul P.G. College has the
objective of imparting education in the field of Ancient History
and Culture. The Department teaches Indian Culture as compulsory
subject at UG level (Vidyalankar) to ignite a cultural awakening
and make our students conscious of our heritage. The students
went on exploratory tours in different parts of the country.
Besides its regular activities department has organised lectures
of eminent scholars. It is offering Masters in Arts, Doctor
in Philosophy degree to students. The future plan of the department
includes diversification and extension in teaching programmes.
The Department has set high goals for itself and seeks to
achieve them in future. |
