The Department runs a Canadian Studies Center. Students get an opportunity to be in touch with New Literatures including Canadian Literature and the latest developments in contemporary issues, including environmental and socio-economic issues. |
| The editorship of the literary and cultural journal of the university The Vedic Path, a Quarterly Journal of English has been lying with the department. Late Prof R.L. Varshney, Prof. Narayan Sharma, late. Dr. K.A. Agrawal and now Prof. Shrawan K. Sharma have been editing this magazine |
The Department serves a useful purpose in the university by multi-faculty teaching. The teachers of the dept. have been teaching technical and professional communication in the faculties of Technology, Business Administration and Pharmacy. |
