Undergraduate level:
The university awards two degrees at the undergraduate level in the faculties of Humanities and Oriental Studies- Vidyalankar and Vedalankar. Since the year 2006, these students study functional Hindi as a subject. The Department also offers Hindi Literature as an optional subject to these students.
Postgraduate level:
The Department awards the degree of M.A. in Hindi to the students at the Postgraduate level. There is annual examination system and the department teaches five papers in M.A. previous and five in M.A. final. Besides these papers, the students have to appear in the viva voce test in both the years.P.G. Diploma in Hindi Journalism- Merit list prepared on the basis of entrance examination and interview.
Doctoral level: The University awards the degree of Ph. D. in Hindi. The intake of the students in this program is as per the guidelines of UGC. The thrust areas of research in this department for all area of Hindi literatures.

Admission

The admissions in the courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are done on the merit basis. The students are also call for an interview in the department.

For admission into Ph. D. program the university conducts a Common Entrance Test. The department conducts a Pre-RDC presentation in the department on the basis of which the candidates are selected.
